I’m a composer, an electric guitarist, and a collaborator.
My music is an act of rebellion against a world dominated by false notions of perfection and truth. Through sonic world-building, I engage with the flawed beauty of human relationships and the often messy coincidences, patterns, and interactions of natural phenomena.
I create music that lives in the cracks, crevices, edges, and intersections of a wide variety of styles and genres, where divisions blur and categories become empty. Blending techniques and philosophies, my work is fueled by a childlike sense of wonder, playfulness, and imagination- bound to no single school or approach. My musical storytelling draws on a spectrum of influences: from progressive rock, pop, noise, and the Western classical canon, to spiritual practices, cinema, comedy, and the current political climate.Fascinated by the expressive power of layers, lines, and blocks of sound, I craft works that balance intricate textures and rhythmic precision with raw emotional intensity and instability. My music is delicately aggressive and aggressively delicate; it is tightly-structured spontaneity; paradoxically simple yet complex; and exemplifies stillness through motion.
Whether composing for live chamber ensembles, electro-acoustic projects, or recording with interdisciplinary collaborative teams, I create immersive musical environments that engage and challenge performers and listeners with a sound that is visceral, thought-provoking, and deeply human.
